My hair is naturally pretty curly, but not soft pretty wave/curls. They are a little bit tighter curls. How can I achieve that soft look you often see on celebrities?

You can use a curling iron on it to smooth your curl and make it softer, and make your hair more uniform. You can also get a relaxer, I know you don't want your hair really straight so make sure you find a stylist who can do this for you and do it correctly. They would put a relaxer on your hair, scrunching your curl as they go, process for 3-5 min MAXIMUM. Also make sure they would be doing a thio relaxer not a sodium relaxer. Lastly there should be 2 stylists applying your relaxer at the same time so the application is very fast. If only one person applies it then the area where they start will be way too straight by the time they finish the application. If you choose to go this route, please make sure it is someone who really knows what they are doing as it would be really easy to make your hair too straight and then it will not curl for you at all.
